But, but, Bill Ritter and the Democrats kept telling us that the new oil & gas regulations had no effect on the industry. CBS 4 reports:
Surveys and magazine rankings routinely list parts of Colorado as the best places to live. But one survey says for oil and gas companies Colorado is the worst place in the country to do business.
The survey covered 143 locations worldwide. Colorado ranked last among the states and 81st in the world.
In 2007 Colorado was among the best places for oil and gas.
Some executives say Colorado has fallen out of favor because of new regulations.
Gov. Bill Ritter and environmental groups say those new rules protect the environment and wildlife

GOP candidates need to recommend new energy reforms
The GOP's candidates have to outline some reforms to Ritter's energy laws that will bring exploration companies back to the state while protecting wildlife and the environment.
Ritter's gone to the extreme, giving the GOP candidates a chance to look reasonable, moderate and in tune with voters' concerns about the state's economy, wildlife and environment.
Do any of the GOP candidates have proposals on the table, yet?
GOP candidates need ideas
The candidates need to come up with some actual proposals, which we haven't seen yet. It's not enough to say no.
Sleep Easy
Congressman McInnis sees this as a potential campaign issue so he thinks it's time to step up and pretend that he's been in the fight for the past 3 1/2 years. In the latest of his random, rambling e-mails to people he thinks are supporting him, he notes that this energy issue is something he and others have "been concerned about for some time." Really, Scott? Is that why you wrote so many guest editorials confronting the governor over his rules? Wait, you didn't. Is that why you stood up at the COGCC hearings and testified against the rules? Wait, you didn't. Is it why you used precious political capital rallying people to fight at the Capitol, at the hearings, etc? Wait, you didn't.
Scott McInnis is a washed up opportunist. Nothing more. Piling on at the 11th hour to pretend that you've been in the trenches with those who have been fighting day in day out on this energy issue (like Josh Penry) is embarassing at best....political opportunism at worst.
Go away, Congressman. Stay atop your perch in downtown Denver and continue collecting millions of dollars for your lobbying skills.
Best. Reply. Ever.
