It's been several days since word of Tom Wiens' entry into the Senate race broke so we're way past due for another entry into the race. Luckily, Gary Dean Kennedy has filed with the FEC and is helping to make sure that the streak of two or three Republicans entering the Senate race each month is preserved.
A Google search reveals that he is apparently the Superintendant of the Mancos Water Conservancy District. This at least gives him a leg-up over some of the other random people who have decided to file for the Senate nomination when it comes to having actual roots in the state and actual policy expertise. He goes up against such luminaries as Luke Korkowski(?) who touts himself as "smart, but not too smart" on his campaign site (honest to god, go take a look), Vincent Martinez who is also running according to the FEC, and Mark Evan Van Wyk who has already jumped out of the race but not before pulling 4% at the El Paso GOP straw poll.
We assume (and hope) that Kennedy is filing as part of some convoluted publicity stunt involving Western Slope water rights, but, come on...
